I think we’re pretty much all set for the trip! Got every hotel booked (yes, twenty-two of them!), covering four countries. We’ll only stay a night in most places, but a few spots we’ll stay two or three nights. It was a bit of a puzzle sorting out locations and timing, but I think we nailed it. Unlike my last month-long trip which was completely planned for me, this one’s all on us to plan.
Flexibility is going to be key; there are so many things that could throw off our schedule (weather, road conditions, ferry schedules, etc.). Good thing all the hotels are refundable/reschedulable for those last-minute changes. Fingers crossed, though, that we’ll be able to (more-or-less) stick to the plan. We’ve factored in extra travel and flex time for any unexpected longer stays or if we start to fall behind.
We’re also trying to lock in some events/tours, but most aren’t available for booking yet. We managed to snag an evening at the Oslo Opera House, and the Nattjazz festival in Bergen lines up with our visit, so we’re hoping to catch a show or two. The rest of the trip? It’s really all about the journey, finding cool stuff as we go.
